I test drove one of these earlier this week. It was a G37S coupe. Genuinely the best feel of any car I've ever driven, and now, everytime I see a G37 I look on with envy, because that man or woman is enjoying something everyday, that I only got a taste of for 10 minutes.

Bought my 2009 G-37 new. I have over 140, 000 miles on it and don't burn any oil. Around town I get 19 mpg and on a long trip on the interstate, I get between 26 - 28 mpg. It is a keeper.

Every car has common problems and it also depends on who was the recent owner along with his maintenance.

My g37 sedan AT has been very reliable for the past 4 years of ownership, it has 92k miles, I do 650miles of driving each week for work and it literally gave me zero problems so far. Never burns any oil and i change it every 4k with mobil 1 full synthetic. Super impressed 👌

I am considering buying one of these cars and just came across your video. Thank you for pointing out what to look for. You obviously know what you're talking about, and so your video is very helpful to those of us who are not knowledgeable. Thank you again!

I just recently purchased one of these and man I Love it... the power, handling, smoothness, engine roots, etc... luckily I'm the type to research things before anything this way I know what I'm getting myself into because it'll save you in the long run. #TeamInfiniti#Q60

Good list! I would add valve cover gaskets & sunroof drain there too.

Still driving my 09 G37, about to finally hit 100k miles, been a great car, and I still think it looks great almost 15 years later.

Thank you for a good video. I like how you added pictures of the problem part. I have a 08 G37 coupe. I drive it normal and stock and change the oil every 3K and it burns no oil. I have a Car Shield extended warranty $109 @ mo for Platinum plan. Covers all major components and $100 deductible. Good peace of mind if any thing goes wrong.

I’ve had my 08 G37S coupe for over 10 years now. I got it when it had 50k miles and now It’s sitting at a little over 160k miles. The only issue I have encountered is the clutch slave cylinder going out at 60k miles which was luckily covered under warranty by the dealer. I thankfully haven’t had any of the other issues mentioned.

One other common issue that wasn’t covered in this video is the heater hose connection that’s near the firewall (bulkhead). There are two hoses that clamp to a plastic connector that tends to crack and leak coolant. It’s happened to me twice but It’s a really easy fix. There’s an after market replacement you can get that’s aluminum though.

A second common issue is the sunroof drains. I’ve only had to replace the ones that drain toward the firewall (bulkhead). The rear ones have luckily been fine. The original design of the drain wasn’t very good so, on heavy rainy days, you’ll end up having water puddle up under your floor mats. Infiniti revised the drain design and is another easy fix you can do yourself if you have the patience.

There are plenty YT videos that cover these repairs.

My 2013 G37X coupe got it at 30, 000 miles and now it has 165, 000 on it. Never had any issues with the car other then normal maintenance but I take good care of my cars. It has been the most enjoyable ride and such a fun car to own. She is so fast! I would love to get the Q60 but I have to begin to move onto something more economical... with four doors :) This was the second infiniti I owned. I had a G20 and drove that car to almost 200, 000 miles. The infiniti coupes are not inexpensive to keep up with but they are reliable and so FUN!

Heater core hose coupler break is very common and causes all coolant to leak out and engine to quickly overheat. Easy fix, best to replace it with a metal one before it goes out

Thanks for the tips. I have a 2014 Q60 convertible, and I ran into some of what you mentioned like the Bushing getting worn out, which cost me 2K from the dealer. Also, your Rear timing cover is leaking, but I have not lost oil pressure yet. Dealers are charging 5.5K. Something I am looking for a mechanic to fix it cheaper. I did want to say if you have an automatic transmission, I ran into that I had to replace my valve body and flush transmission code 65INZ95 DTC Po720. Cost me $4k, other mechanics were a little cheaper, but you have to remember that it needs to be reprogrammed, and I want the dealer to do it right. Even though it stalled, it took me home and drove. I drove it the next morning, I noticed you can drive it when the car is cold. So far, no problem after replacing it, and I have 114k miles. I drove it 85K when I bought it and it's been really reliable and fun to drive. I drive 200 miles a week get an average of 23 mpg and love hitting 120 speed.

Slave cylinder went out twice for me! 1st time used another mechanic (they didn't do it right, ended up going back to Infiniti) 2nd time Infiniti fixed it and said they used more viscous fluid to help prevent that.

#4 I’ve never heard of the issue on the G37 but mainly on the 370z .
