Why wouldn't they use this money and just pay the landlords?! Two birds with one stone. Not everyone will be using the money received to pay rent. Look what happened to the pandemic checks

How about the fact these people received “enhanced unemployment” during the shutdown? They were swimming in more money than they ever earned at work, but didn’t pay the rent.

Funny how politicians never consider lowering taxes to reduce the cost of living. Their answer is always more taxes or redistribution of income. After income tax and sales tax one would be lucky to keep half of what you earn. Now factor in all the government spending that's fueling inflation and raising our cost of living. Now add in millions of migrants who are taking advantage of our social services, using emergency services/ county hospitals which is part of the reason why our medical expenses keep increasing. Gavin Newsome already spent $54 billion combating homelessness only for the problem to get much worse. Personally I would prefer if that $54 billion in wasted money was in our paychecks and not squandered.

Hey city, these properties are privately owned. Treat them as such. We’re not here to provide free housing for those who can’t afford it, that’s your job.

About time they helping people to not get evicted from there home due to covid. they should first help and fix these problem with the homeless or people loosing there homes, instead of bringing more people from other countrys and helping them they should first help people living already here and ones there able to help the homeless or clean up our streets help people from other countrys, its so ridiculous and hard to see the struggle in these country and they cant fix these put they bringing more people to these country 🙇‍♀️

These people can't help themselves!

The policy to me is unreasonable but all that matters is thay it's ok with the folks who buy those expensive homes. They are funding it and they are obviously fine with it. I'm surprised but that's the way it is.
