I’m 43 and drive a 20 year old car even though I can afford a new car. I’m actually having fun seeing how many miles and years it will go! Kind of an adventure. It’s a Corolla so it should have plenty of years left.

He talked about staying ahead of his peers. Don’t make life a competition.

I never recommend roommates. They are unbearable. Heck I can barely stand my own family lol. Definitely do the overtime though thats the key

This guy sounds incredibly mature for 19. And very fortunate. I was lucky to pull in 12k in a year at 19 being a young father and newlywed.

It's amazing how many young people call in with cars that they can't afford. George is spot on: Nobody cares. And, having a good reliable paid for used car is more fun when you 're young because it's stress free and cool.

Dude needs to buy a Lexus LS 430. It's still a nice car, super reliable and you can buy a nice example for under $10k.

If he works more, saves and budgets well, he could pay off the total debt on the car and home in a couple years. He would be early 20s with a paid off home and car. Just crush it dude.

I didn’t know George was a millionaire that’s cool but it also makes sense somebody on Dave staff has to be a millionaire if they done his plan long enough

Luckily, he's a young bloke. He recognises his financial mistake with the car loan overkill and is working on fixing it. He can get out of this debt in no time and work towards financial freedom. Good luck to him. Keep the house - sell the car. I definitely was not mature enough to buy a house (or have the finances) at his age!

Did he say majority of it is in mortgage? That’s not SO bad.

I wouldn’t do roommate unless it was someone I know really well.

Funny, I got to the end of this video, impressed by the maturity of this young man. Then YouTube plays an online gambling video, trying to get me to sign up. What a contrast!

This kid is doing very well. The mortgage is great, only thing he needs to do is dump the car. The place hes in now will be a rental property once he gets married and moves into a bigger place to start a family.

He’s lucky that he can offload that car for a profit. Usually when young people do this it sets them back 2-3 years because they are underwater in that car.

I actually am into cars and I have analyzed the way normal people look at them. People do care, but not in the way you would imagine. There are a few tiers of the way non-enthusiast people interpret your car: normal, nice, rich, and supercar.
They make a small judgement depending on the level of perceived ‘niceness’ but you can easily make your car appear nicer for not much money. A good example is a 5 year old Mercedes. You avoid the depreciation curve and can get a car that elevates social status for like $15k
