Anyone ever had it where your friends have 'warned' new people that you're awkward and unsociable, and it creates a weird atmosphere when you walk in? And then you start to get self-conscious because of the weird atmosphere and kind of clam up? And then it basically re-affirms the description of 'awkward and unsociable', and creates a vicious cycle where socialising becomes ever more passively hostile and daunting? Reminds me a little of this but slightly different

Honestly it's quite scary how people perceive you in a way that's possibly entirely different from how you perceive yourself

My dad told me that if people start gossiping about me, they will see even the normal things about me as weird.
And if they think I am weird they will bully and stop hanging out with me.
In retrospect, my dad probably thought I was weird.
