Easy Art for Kids: Texture Drawing!

Learn this fun and easy drawing activity that allows you to explore different textures around you and to make texture rubbings!
Materials:
•Paper
•Pencil
•Crayons (peel off wrapping)
•Textured Items (Lego base, burlap fabric, doormat, leaves, coins, sand paper, plastic net bag, texture rubbing plates, etc.)
Instructions:
1. Draw a picture on the paper with your pencil. Larger shapes and images are best.
2. Set your textured item underneath the paper. Rub the side of the crayon over the paper & textured item in the section of your drawing that you want to color.
3. Do this with just one texture or different textures, one color or different colors. Keep moving around your drawing and adding color and texture with a variety of textured surfaces.
4. You can take the paper with you and go around the house to search for textured surfaces or bring textured items to your work surface.
5. Do this as many times as you like with different images or pictures, and textures!
