Honestly, I took to loving this anime so much that I completely forgot it was another “isekai” story. I am someone who is fascinated with the horrors of the 20th Century, and particularly with WWI. This anime is a perfect encapsulation of everything I found fascinating about both those subjects. I cannot recommend this anime more highly.

After many viewings, I noticed that at 0:55 the zoom into Rerugen followed by a short look at Tanya looking insane is meant to show Rerugen seeing the "monster in the form of a little girl" that Tanya supposedly is.
