Setting x> 1/(1-x) in (2) we get f(x) + f(1-1/x) = 1-1/x...(3). (1)+(3)-(2) gives f(x) = 1/2[ x+1-1/x-1/(1-x)] > f(x) = (x^3-x+1)/(2x^2-2x).
