We were on Silhouette's Transatlantic in Spring 2024 and we really appreaciated Mazy (F&B Director) and Zafer (Hotel) making us feel like family - Exceptional food and service in Blu, Murano, Lawn Club Grill and Tuscan Grill. We're back on Silhouette in April and are really looking forward to it. We love Celebrity! Thanks for the video!

Love the laid back, relaxing calm of Silhouette. Food always been topnotch. Can't complain.

I spent 22 days on the Silhouette in April/May. I did not have any issues with wait times for meals. I have found sometimes like any restaurant you get a bad server, the next night you tell the hostess to not sit you with that server...sometimes they might be short staffed...people sice or just short, it happens. You can't compare the Soltice class ships to the Edge class ships. I love the Edge class ships, but they are newer and they are pricier. I'll take the Soltice class ship to make my money go further. I cruise 10-15 cruise per year on Celebrity and not changing anytime soon.

We enjoy the casual upscale feel of the Solstice class ships - and actually appreciate the leisurely paced dining in the main dining room, often the highlight of the day, where we can relax with a couple glasses of wine, and enjoy each other's company. If we were in and out of there in less than an hour, I would feel cheated! We are done with Tuscan Grill also - very nice atmosphere, but always disappointed with the food. Murano has always been the better choice.

Hey Gents, excellent stuff.

I do like your reviews of celebrity ships, I love the outer decks even on these older ships!

Interesting that it’s very inward facing very royal and vegas style!

Those prices for drinks packages oh my. Think I will stick to water and tea 🤣

Excellent video! I was on the Silhouette back in December. I found the service to be fantastic, maybe a bit slow in the main dining room, but within that acceptable range. I'm definitely looking forward to checking out some of Celebrity's other ships in the future

Well done with the review. We are on this ship in a couple of months out of Barcelona to Florida. This will be the 7th celebrity ship I’ve sailed. I have noticed a decline in quality of food and portions in the main dining room over the years. We actually had dinner several times in the buffet because the food was tastier and we did not have to sit through almost 2 hrs to finish our dinner in the main. Celebrity is getting more and more expensive and is offering less and less. Celebrity is not a 5.5 star line it’s barely a 5 star. We will be on the Regent Navigator in April, Florida to Lisbon. We got a hell of a deal better than Celebrity could offer. No nickel and dimming on the Regent

Loved our first Celebrity cruise in 2019 on Silhouette. Just about to cruise with Edge class (Apex) for the 2nd time in June. Prefer the much better Apex personally (but I do loathe the infinite balcony) will always have a soft spot for Silhouette! ⛴️💙x

Fine review of one of my favorite ships! She has great itineraries too.

I went on the Edge last year, this ship reminds me of the Equinox which I did back in 2013. I don't do special dining and only buffet so I'm sure I won''t have issues. I'm going on Spain, France and Portugal end of August, solo. The Edge was really nice, especially with nice places to sit outside and enjoying the ocean view.

Don’t need wow—great atmosphere for quieter refined classic cruising—plenty of outside space and outward views in observation lounge in a controlled AC environment. Satisfyingly is the word—this evaluation seems to be an ad for edge class—dining with new people is a part of cruising—MDR and Specialty Dining are great—seldom eat ‘grill’ food on cruises—can get that anywhere! Spa Cafe near Solarium are excellent. Best. Buffet @ sea!

We chose to dine late on our recent Celebrity Apex cruise, after the first big entertainment show and found the service really quick as it was less busy

Excellent video. The difference between Solstice Class ships and Edge Class ships is extraordinary. The bathroom on Edge Class ships are by far the BEST in the industry particularly by size. Celebrity ships are so different nowadays you just can't compare. It's almost like its 3 different cruise lines in one. Premium is NOT the right word to describe Celebrity these days. Nickle and Dimeing occurs far too much. Food is great as long as you aren't a foodie. As you mentioned service can be hit and miss. Agreed it's still a great cruise line to try.

We spent two weeks on a TA from Barcelona to Ft Lauderdale in November. We had ample opportunity to dine at ALL the venues. Our experience at Tuscan grill was wonderful. Superb service and my filet w Gorgonzola was perfect, as was the Cacio Y Pepe. I will say that the Captains Club Elite breakfast was underwhelming. Went one time, were ignored, so we never went back.
Murano, sushi on 5, lawn club grill were all wonderful. Crew were amazing. We had elite beverage package and were never disappointed in the quality of the beverages. We would sail on her again in an instant.

Good question have standards slipped. I think so just got back from Caribbean and restaurants didn’t enforce dress code at all. Kids ran wild. Ocean view was like a feeding frenzy. Waste there is unbelievable. People stealing ice cream bowls. If celebrity wants to keep high standards they better start enforcing rules. Another was waiting one hour and a half on late passenger at a port

Hi. It would be great if you could review provision of special diets on cruise ships Particularly gluten free.
Most lines say they can cater but this varies massively.
Becky Excell would be a great person to get involved as she has many thousands of followers in the gluten free community.
Cheers. John and Gill.

Have cruised on Beyond and Equinox (sister ship to silhouette I believe). The Beyond’s theater is amazing with a super HD screen. We saw the “Element” performance on Beyond and it was an amazing Broadway quality performance. One thing I noticed between the Beyond and the Equinox was the marketing. When we got on the Equinox we were bombarded with staff trying to sell drink and specialty dining packages on almost every day. This was annoying and made me feel like I was on a Carnival cruise. They also had photographers all over the ship every night which really added to the congestion. We sailed the Beyond 10 months later and there were no staff selling drink and dining packages in the common areas. Also photographers were much less visible. The Beyond felt much more professional. My partner and I drink maybe 2 or 3 drinks the entire cruise so the drink packages make no sense for us. I can’t believe people spend almost a $1000 per person for premium drink packages and still might have to pay additional for some special drinks.

We liked the 4 main dining areas on Beyond versus the Grand Cafe on Equinox so much that we only ate one meal in the cafeteria. We did not experience slow service issues on either ship. I do think the Equinox was more elegant with the grand foyer rising 10 or so floors. The Beyond appears to have been designed to maximize floor space with a 3 story grand foyer and lower ceilings in the 4 main dining areas. Those changes allowed them to increase ship capacity by around 300 people. We had the infinite veranda in the Beyond which we enjoyed. We will have a traditional veranda on the Silhouette which we will sail next year. It will be interesting to compare. The Beyond also had a slightly younger population than the Equinox which I think is something Celebrity has been trying to achieve. In summary we enjoyed both Ships. One more thing to mention, both sailings were out of Fort Lauderdale and the embarkation process on the Beyond was the easiest and most stress free experience I’ve ever had in over 10 cruises. It was probably a combination of the process and the terminal building.

1st Celebrity cruise I trusted the hot tubs and ended up on a 10-week course of multiple antibiotics after. 2nd cruise I stayed out of the hot tub, but trusted the pool, and back on antibiotics.... We are back from our third celebrity cruise and even though I avoided both the pools and hot tubs, there was no escaping the coughing people in the elevators or dining areas, (even though we packed Lysol spray and used Purell religiously, I got sick on the last day of the cruise and have been sick for 10 days now. This ship is a giant petri dish! I'm done with cruises!
