Throughout the development of any piece of media it’s common for things to change or get left on the cutting room floor. Hazbin Hotel is no exception, with the story and characters changing widely through the years. Entire plotpoints were cut and changed, or just reused in helluva boss. In this video i’m going to talk about the hazbin hotel we never got.

I think these wacky episodes with characters just hanging out is what's missing in actual show.

i actually really like the og ideas they had for hazbin hotel, it looks more like helluvas story telling and it seems a lot less rushed. it just seems to fix most of the problems i have with the official show

See THIS feels like a continuation of the pilot. The concepts sound so much less bloated and more episodic with occasional lore and canon events. As what most shows should be in there first season. I sware it feels like the final show is “ok ok we gotta speed run this MOVE!!!!” There was no chill ep or time to fall in love with the characters before we learned about there turmoil. Case in point- Vaggies “if I can’t protect u what good am I?” Problem was originally gonna be in issue 10!!!! Not episode frikin 3 where we barely knew her!!!

This just proves that the show was supposed to be episodic fun but got fuck over by the episode count.
These premises would have been so much fun for character development and just a slice of life.

Also Episode 6's title is a reference to Marylin Monroe's song where she was a flapper girl/ or is a reference to Betty Boop.

With everything we've seen about season 2 already, some of these things could possibly be re-used next season (like the Niffty thing and Baxter's introduction)

I actually prefer these rough drafts/original concepts over the actual show. I like Hazbin Hotel don’t get me wrong (and I think it’s better than Helluva Boss) but the show felt rushed. They introduced too many concepts and characters, Charlie and Lucifer made up in 1 episode, and they introduced Heaven way too early. It sucks that they only had 8 episodes and didn’t have the chance to flesh out the world/characters, maybe season 2 will have more/longer episodes to make up for it

I remember Sir Pentious having a crush on Rosie in “The Taxidermist” (a popular fanfic on AO3) and I just assumed it was something sprinkled in by the author, but to find out it was originally supposed to be cannon is hilarious🤣🤣

The original Hazbin Hotel sounded a bit better then the final show we got but it'd probably be better if the two were kind of mixed?

sometimes I wonder if Hazbin could be better if it stayed indie.. I mean, I love the show (partially) but watching Helluva Boss and how much freedom it has in comparison to Hazbin it makes me wonder how thing could've been if Viv never pitched the show...

I think the season 1 we got was decent but these original ideas for episodes looked like they would've been a lot of fun and more grounded than the season 1 we got hopefully season 2 ends up a bit more like these original ideas


Also Hatchet in the middle left at 2:50 being scared of niffty is great

10:11 As far as I know it's still canon that Husk speaks most languages, I've seen spanish, russian, italian, mandarin chinese and japanese, some of these may end up cut but I personally belive no languages actually exist in hell. Like in the good place everything is automaticly translated, Vaggie used to have small moments where she spoke spanish but they were gone in the show

I can't help but think this version would have had a much stronger impact, way more potential, and a more grounded plot at the beginning. Not calling what we have now bad but if I had to describe our season 1 it would be a best or funny moments compilation of a 3 season long show crammed in under 2 hours. Jesus they need longer episodes and a better pacing.

As a casual fan, I would’ve killed to have those first draft episodes in the final show. It would’ve given much more context and more time to love the characters and get to know them more.

I hope they salvage a few of these ideas in the later seasons. Especially the one where Charlie and Angel take Husk to a carnival. Aside from my selfishly wanting more HuskerDust content, plus it sounding just plain cute all of them doing something mundane and bonding over it, it sounds like a great way to explore the character's origins.

To be honest I think this original idea for the show wouldn’ve been way better than the show we got, one of the most loved part of the series is the characters and with the more episodic style of the pitch bible definitely would’ve gave the characters a lot more time to shine and get a lot more development, also it had a lot more world building for hell and gave it really fun tone, the pacing in these definitely let events and characters to grow and move at a more natural pace, I like the final outcome events and story’s kinda mesh together in my head and I don’t really remember which episode they happened in, either way we got a really good show with a few problems that now have answers, hopefully season 2 can use some of these ideas and maybe improve the pacing and development

10:53 I just noticed in the main show we don’t see what happens to sinners/angels that get killed with an angelic weapon. We only see their body remains but I guess they cease to exist & manifest again. Maybe in season 2 we’ll see what really happens to those that are eliminated by an angelic weapon
