Summary for people coming from AWS: Pub/Sub is similar to sns+sqs fanout. Pub/Sub Lite is similar to Kinesis (Kafka).
sns+sqs and Pub/Sub are no-ops, no provisioning, integrated with other services but more expensive, while Pub/Sub Lite/Kinesis is manually provisioned, have partitions, only pull, no push, integrated with fewer services but much cheaper.
