Absolutely, drawing and painting is all about that. The more you do it the better you will get 100%. It's impossible not to improve.

There is no guarantee that you will get better or even reach your goals. Because its an Insane grind to get good. I am not talking drawing a face i am talking about drawing characters or character design. Anatomy, gesture, form, perspektiv, color theory, light and shadow, composition and then there's your ability to observe. Which might not ever grow if your doing it wrong. The fundementals are also a kind of quessing game where you might or you might not reach your full potential. There is never any guarantee.

The best teachers are those who can meet the student at they level where they are. This is so helpful!

Hi . I just started sketching for the first time. I like your videos especially the ideas of what to draw. Are you looking at a photo or do you have it in your mind? Just curious. I have been using photos to sketch. It seems to work the best for me at this early stage.

I like your little talks & the drawing you do while talking. But can you put the source you're drawing from on camera? I like comparing how you're drawing something to the photo.

So true about the piano. I had piano lessons for many years and was quite good. Since not playing for some years I have to relearn everything. So a few minutes to half an hour a day or so is beneficial to learning.

Really nice drawing! The hardest part of practicing, for me, is facing all those disappointments until I finally see an improvement. I have to keep pushing through it. Keep the animal drawings coming!

Thank you so much for adding these “life lessons” into a playlist. I’m adding them for my son to watch as he is a budding artist. Such great advice you are giving! I wish I would have had some of these gold nuggets before I went to conservatory to be an actor 20+ years ago. They’re not only going to keep him encouraged and focused on what matters for an artist, but they’re encouraging me as well!! Great job!

Do you draw from memory, picture of model? Is there a better way to start?

Thank you. I am trying to get back to art after many years. The frustration comes from knowing I have so much to learn and I need to start from scratch. This helps.
