I gotta go with duel for a number of reasons one the peterbilt 281 had a SOD 13 two part transmission and had its original CAT 1674 replaced with a bigger CAT engine name of the newer motor is unknown but from what ive seen the new engine was beefed up to put out almost 800 horsepower which back in the 70s was absolutely insane for a on highway semi truck now i know what ur thinking how is it possible for a engine in the 70s to have this much power well its simple it only takes 3 things more air, fuel and bigger turbos on top of all of this the driver for the 281 was a hell of alot more skilled than Rusty was especially since this truck has zero power steering and little to no brakes with tires as bald as a baby's ass

Came back to add another comment for this because I keep seeing a lot of people say the 359 is better than the 281 and if it was a factory issued off the lot rig yes the 359 would be better but for these two trucks from the movie's to go head to head the 281 would win by a massive long shot another thing i forgot to mention the 281 had no editing on its sounds except its horn every time you hear the driver shift or give it gas that's exactly what the 281 sounded like in real life on top of this the transmission for the 281 was half working and had alot of issues and for the cherry on top the newer motor was damaged on purpose to leak and burn oil and coolant which gave it its signature sound and its heavy mixes of multi colored smoke ranging from white to black or both

Duel has 800 hospower and duel driver was way more skilled than rusty and he was cary loften plus cary loften drove that truck so hard that it could had almost fell apart rusty only has 400 hospower or less so if duel had to cath rusty rusty would be on the side of the road already
