Показать описание
Morphine is a very potent opioid analgesic, that is mainly used in the treatment of severe acute and chronic pain. It binds to opioid receptors in the pain pathway and alters the response to pain.
Morphine can be administered into the body via several routes. These include oral route. Intravenous. Subcutaneous. Rectal. Intrathecal; and epidural.
Major indications of morphine include the following. To relieve pain in acute myocardial infarctions. To alleviate post operative pain. As an analgesic during surgery. To relieve cancer pain. To relieve pain in trauma. And any other acute or chronic painful condition.
Major adverse effects of morphine include the following. Respiratory depression, which slows down the respiratory rate. Sedation, which increases the risk of aspiration, especially in the post operative period. Suppression of the cough reflex, which increases the risk of aspiration. Nausea and vomiting. Constipation. Tolerance and dependence, which may lead to addiction. And miosis.

I got addicted to morphine after my dad passed away. He left about 15 of those little viles of morphine. And I took them all! It was fun times. But I remember I was so sick from withdrawals. My ex gf and I went to a restaurant for our anniversary and I was so sick that day I couldn’t even eat. I kept going to the bathroom to throw up. And nothing was coming out. Just very nauseous and so so sick. It wasn’t to bad tho. It only lasted a few days. I’ve come off of opiates and that takes months! It’s horrible

Before my grandmother passed on from cancer she was having gallbladder issues that were mimicking symptoms of a heart attack. Her doctor said her heart was fine. They kept giving her morphine for the pain and it wasn’t touching her. They had to tell my grandfather that they’ve given her enough morphine to send her to the moon. She never felt any relief from it. She passed on back in September of 2004 from lung cancer.

I one slept on a morphine machine and took 43 doses in one night, the doctors the next day were talking about how bad my night had been but I had just had the best night of my hospital stay.

Morphine is a marvel amongst analgesic medications/drugs, because it's the standard by which all the others are compared. It's a fully natural compound too found in the opium poppy but in the UK we also use Diamorphine for heart attacks etc which is somewhat more rapid acting, but is converted to Morphine inside the body anyway, as is Codeine.

I was in a road accident in 2010. My legs were run over by a large Ford Transit and I’ve been in and out of hospital ever since and have had 21 operations. The result is I am partially crippled. I can walk with sticks but it’s very painful. The pain is getting worse due to arthritis, so I take morphine sulfate slow release capsules. A recent blood test gave my gp worries about my kidney function, which might be being compromised by long term morphine use.
Previous to the blood test he had already lowered my dose from 120 to 110mcg/day in two 55mcg doses. However, after the kidney scare I gradually lowered my dose still further to 80mcg/day, without telling my doctor. However, I obviously feel more pain during the day than when I’m in bed so I decided to split the dose unequally to 30mcg nightly and 50mcg in the mornings. Has anyone else tried this and does anyone know if it’s ok to use unequal doses in this manner?

I was in the ER recently and they gave me morphine (IV) the next day, I’ve been sleep, sleepy, and tired. Although, when they gave it to me I was not tired. Is that the after effects of the drug?

My favorite thing was when I was being treated for Leukemia, they would be preparing to shoot me up with morphine. I'd start being the medic from Saving Private Ryan. " O-oh God..! I-is it bad..!? Ahhh crap... that's mine..! N-nnnh..! " - One of the male nurses I'm still friends with to this day realized what I was doing and was like " Tell me how to fix you. Tell me what to do. " to which I reply " I could use a little m- mnh m-more morphine..! "

Nobody cares about the side effects once they see how great it makes you feel. Opiate pain killers can make someone believe in God
