Greek Theater in Context: Antigone in Acropolis - ANABAME ♠

Показать описание
Theater, when those who do not have access to view plays in their original context of the stage, often times are left to be viewed through the flat and boxed display of the screen.
What does theatre play look like in its original context, one where you can look around and be immersed into the space? Following what we had discussed in class about the complexity and grandness of ancient Greek theatre, I wanted to recreate the experience of the original Greek theatre; making it accessible to all who cannot afford access to the original site.
Using a 3D scan of Acropolis, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 161AD, Athens Greece; I overlay its beautiful structure with an excerpt of the last scene of Antigone by Sophocles, done by director Don Taylor starring Juliet Stevenson in 1989.
Make for VR headsets (Oculus Quest) to experience the immersive theater, but it can also work with clicking and dragging on the screen to look around the scene.
