In the version I (think I) know, Antigone was just imprisoned, with one day's worth of food. But her betrothed, Prince Haemon, loved her and wouldn’t let her die. He broke into the prison to rescue her, but she had already taken her life, so he took his own as well. Yep, I know what it sounds like, lol.
