Bro causally just explained the entirety of Godot better than 99% of tutorials on YouTube.

27:49 "So, the basic idea is that we make shapes look like things and then we put textures on them to make those things look more like things"
Instantly subscribed, quote of the decade.

I'm doing livestreams now making my next tutorial on YouTube and Twitch! its a Horror themed cooking game with Godot 4. I plan to go live most weekdays this month of September and October of 2024 around 7pm EST. The plan is to release the next huge tutorial with the game I streamed making all for free. Thanks for all the support.

In my heart, TestFPS is the true GOTY 2024, and you're the GODOAT.

This has to be one of the best indie game dev tutorials out there. Infact, instead of a godot tutorial, I would consider this one of the best step-by-step overviews of creating a solo project. You not only cover the game engine, which is the only thing ALL other tutorials do, but also introduce other software crucial to indie game development. I have been watching tutorials for more than 8 years and I am not exaggerating when I say that not even paid tutorials are as comprehensive as this one. I especially love your DIY approach as I always hate how other instructors just hand out an off the shelf asset pack and get on with the tutorials. Hats off to you Sir for this. You may only be a godot enjoyer to yourself but to me you are a solo indie game dev hero.

Dude just casually dunks on lolcow Mersh 1 minute and 30 seconds in. Never thought I'd come across a Mersh clip in a godot tutorial.

thank you so much somehow you managed to make uv's finally make sense to me with this tutorial, even with every other video I've watched specifically built to teach you uv mapping I never fully understood it

I love how you show when you make mistakes and solve them most videos assume that when you start off with the tutorial you will never run into those mistakes but it usually happens often.

I forgot to turn off x2 speed from another tutorial I was watching and now I feel like knowledge is being injected straight into my skull.

I think yt recommended this to me because you mention Blender and that's it, Im not interested in game development at all, but your way of explaining things was so relaxing I stayed for too long.

Awesome tutorial. Especially since you go from start to finish of a complete game to show the whole process. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Haven't finished the tutorial yet but your rundown of Blender has me very impressed. I am already familiar with that software, at least enough to do this project.. but you explained it quicker and more understandably than all the tutorials I started with. Excellent teaching skills!

I get the feeling you experienced guides that don't explain much or just go Hella fast. Your speed and breakdown of the keys here is great! Thanks for the unzoomerfied content 🙏

I’ve been doing some Godot with various 3D assets for a bit and I’ve been thinking how nice it would be to be able to make some of my own low-poly/quality models for my games.

Thanks for making this!
