Alternator replacement Tundra Sequoia 1ST GEN 2001 2002 2003 2004 2006 2006 2007. Not really hard at all, hardest part was installing the alternator. Have some hold the power steering pump back or place a piece of wood or screwdriver in there to give you room to maneuver the alternator back into place.

There’s an easier way I found today while doing this. Pull the nut and bolt for the power steering pump so it can slide forward on the bolt. Then go below and on the bottom of the radiator fan shroud, look on either side there is a clip, pop both, and push up and voila the fan shroud is no longer in your way, and you can take the alternator down from the bottom, it makes disconnecting the wires easier cuz you can turn it while it’s still attached and get pliers on the wire, and nut, then twist it as you pull down between the hoses there. Goes right back in the same way, took me less than 15 minutes to get my new one back in and hooked back up once I figured this out. Hope this helps. Nice video, thanks for sharing your work.

Good vid, no bs. Thanks. Only thing I might try differently is to see if I have better access though the wheel well.

I left the power steering pump on and used a long needle nose vice grip to thread the stud out, I did that 2 years ago, watched your video just to know what size nuts those all were again so I wouldn't haveta go back and forth grabbing sockets, thank you.

It was very easy up until I had to remove that 10mm nut on the grounding cable little sob was the bane of my existence till I cut it off. Then just shimmied it on out! Thanks for the tutorial it was really useful!!

Got the same truck mine started having a engine noise through the speakers and I noticed the negative terminal was cracked so I replaced it. Then today the engine noise in the speakers is back & my voltage was reading 16.5 while accelerating 😮 I'am guessing the voltage regulator is going out.

I just bought an 02 Tundra with 140k miles. It has the OEM toyota alternator. I figure I should replace it or have it rebuilt (if it can be) Can you please walk me through the test process.

I have an 06 tundra & I get a misfire/engine skip only when I get to shifting speeds of 35 to 45 mph. If I give it more throttle, it smooths out. Have you ever had an issue like that?

Our first generation alternator failed and we tried getting a Denso replacement new Denso 210-0403 and could only find remanufactured Denso alternators this model is no longer being manufactured. What do you think is our best option? Thank You.

When you said you are getting your alternator rebuilt do you mean you are going to purchase it rebuilt from a Toyota dealership trading in the old one?

My Tundra literally has the same mile and the alternator just went out!!!
Replaced the battery about 6 months ago and the fuel pump just last week and noticed no dash action - no RPM mileage the whole cluster is dead...
