hey Earnie. like you, in my young age, I'm tending to try and keep things simple nowadays. I don't even bother master/slaving duplicate lighting now. I just stand back and point the remote. Nobody notices if the lights are slightly out of sink. Because I do mainly karaoke at the moment, I don't have them on any mad programmes as not to blind my singers.
