Man this show brings up so many memories for me. Of watching the original show as a kid and being addicted to it for one. I stopped watching after Frontier until this one came out and I discovered it on Hulu. Something else that it reminds me of is a Frontier fanfic from a long time ago. It was a truly EPIC story that could've been a whole season of Digimon on its own. The Frontier gang ended up on this continent following the defeat of Cherubimon but before they met the Royal Knights and the place was home to Digimon, Pokemon and even humans. There was a faction of evil Digimon that were trying to resurrect the God of Evil Valmaramon who was killed in an ancient battle with the God of Good Granasmon, but split into seven pieces to survive. The faction was led by a Daemon that was banished by Seraphimon, Ophanimon and Cherubimon long ago and his army contained clones of the Evil Legendary Warriors, including one of Duskmon. So in some ways it was like the Millennimmon resurrection story but even better. Eventually, Valmaramon is resurrected despite their best efforts, but Takuya and Koji fuse into Susanoomon who destroys Valmaramon, apparently for good. I say APPARENTLY because he finds a way to return in the 10 chapter sequel, but he is defeated for good in that one by a Susanoomon made out of all six children.
