As you know, McDowell really hit for me this year. I think The Amulet just edged out Blackwater, but both were incredible. Whats his penname???

Maeve Fly, Laws of the Skies, How to Sell a Haunted House, A House with Good Bones, Queen of Teeth, We Need to Do Something, and Tell Me I'm Worthless are all on my 5-star in 2023 shelf.

Maeve Fly is definitely one of my top horror books of this year! I’ve also enjoyed Magnum Opus by Caitlin Marceau

First of all, i love that headband! 😍
I really enjoyed maeve fly as well! But only 4 stars for me. I think because i listened to it on audio. I think ill reread it physically and might be 5 stars.
I just saw dead eleven for the first time in mikalas wrap up and the plot intrigued me so much. She didnt enjoy it as much, so i wasnt going to pick it up, but seeing it on your faves list has intrigued me again! I'm feeling fomo not knowing if ill like it or not! 🤭
