Because the demons oftentimes use pigs as symbolic. Fat you know, being like pigs you know, smart brain pigs you know ( debt trap )

The way i see it..pigs were the most unclean animals..and were not to be eaten so you could reflect and stay as clean as possible towards God and his law..but when they ask Jesus if they can go with the pigs and he allows it i feel it is an act of Mercy which he applies to many of us when we are unclean. only thing is you see the pigs run off into a stream and drown and that shows what many consequences are when you receive mercy and you keep up with your uncleanness. The demons ask for more time. us as people will lose time. or our lives. Stay sober my friends. make it a holiday. not an asset. God bless. Peace!
