A CBC News team recently got rare access inside Windsor Castle — essentially royal history’s head office.

It’s the world’s largest and oldest continually occupied castle in the world. It’s been home to British monarchs for 1,000 years.

But as Queen Elizabeth prepares to mark 70 years on the throne, we wanted to get a closer look at some of the Canadian treasures hiding within the walls, to learn more about the complex relationship between Canada and the Queen.

Adrienne Arsenault co-hosts The National from London with special coverage of the Platinum Jubilee, starting Wednesday night | Watch live on YouTube every night at 9 p.m. ET

🌹What a great job the CBC did covering the👑Queen's Jubilee.
🎓Adrienne Aresenault is a💪🏻great journalist, she covered everything with integrity and enthusiasm, she represents Canada well.
🇬🇧I watched the full coverage of the Queen's Jubilee, glued to the best seat in the house.🎥The great coverage made me feel as if I were🇬🇧there.🔮I wish I could have been there.🧬My ancestors first came to🇨🇦Canada in 1892 (from Staffordshire, England) landing in Newfoundland. I call👑Queen Elizabeth II my other♥️Mum.
The episode of the🏰Library was a treat.👑King George was so thoughtful to give that beautiful🍁brooch to his wife.
The🏒hockey puck has a🖤darker meaning now, sadly.
👏🏻What a wonderful tour.
♥️Thank-you CBC, you're my #1 trusted truth news source! (;

You know why they didn't want it open because they don't want someone to steal that stuff cause it's very important to ask Canadians in Briti
