TikTok has literally taken over my life. DO NOT DOWNLOAD.

I deleted my Facebook 8 years ago. It was pretty easy. Tik tok and Twitter never appealed to me, thankfully. I just recently decided to walk away from Instagram. Found myself comparing myself too much, wasting time, not being productive. The app just felt unauthentic. Fake people, fake friendships, fake happiness.

“Who is this person and why the fuck do i care” this pretty much sums up 50% of my following lol

My anxiety has decreased significantly since deleting IG and FB. I’ve enjoyed my life more, have more fun with my husband and kids and have become closer to my REAL friends 😊 Best decision ever.

I love this connection between this whole community of people who quit social media and also their channels that are not too big for example like yours. And pretty much all of us have the same reason for quitting.

Great video! I deleted my final social media platform last month (Instagram). I haven’t been without social media since the MySpace days which was 17 years ago. I keep wondering to myself how different of a person I would be if I had never used social media in the first place all those years ago. Crazy to think about.

_"Who tf is this and why do I care?"_
Literally me rn. A year ago, I was addicted to social media. Even Pinterest couldn't escape my need to consume content. I deleted my accounts on Instagram, Tiktok, and Twitter almost a year ago and I'm so much happier now. I've been off Pinterest for a while now but I deleted all the boards that weren't helping my mental health.

I'm rarely on fb but my go to app is Youtube. I love self improvement videos, tarot readings, and music but I had a huge realization recently. I decided to experiment by turning on music on my YT Music app and it was okay until I got annoyed by the constant background music to my tasks of doing things around the house or browsing another app and then *IT HIT ME.* I don't exactly care for music but I'm sucked into this loop of never ending cycle of scrolling if there are people on the screen who either engage with you (as the consumer) or with another person/people in the video/podcast. I figured that I miss social interactions and that conversation within a video even made me feel as if I'm part of the conversation and then I'd go in and give my two cents as if someone actually cared for what I had to say. Me...someone amoungst a thousand, 10, 000, or even a million people who comments on a video. No one would even know who I am.

I noticed a shift in apps like Pinterest and Instagram because they're filled with ads now and although I can sorta skip past the ads on Pinterest, it's still a big issue and sometimes I feel like deleting it as well.

Getting down to why we consume what we consume...it sad and eye opening but at least you start working towards a solution.

I agree that I prefer the long form content of YouTube! It’s so much easier to moderate your consumption for that very reason.

I learned something recently; if you delete your YouTube history, you can notice that the YouTube recommendations shift pretty quickly, which keeps your feed fresh and in line with what you’re currently into.

💕💕

Thank you for your video! 😊

I’ve gone back and forth on the thought of deleting social media many times, and as someone who also has ADD social media does more harm than good. On top of that and the overall super addicting nature of the apps, I don’t see myself staying on these apps much longer. So thanks for the video Harmonie, I really enjoyed it!

i've noticed i spend far too much time on social media, and i find myself just getting so BORED of it. i am also creating content and this is making me rethink what content i choose to create and put out ... i think i'm going to stop making tiktoks/reels and just focus on making youtube videos. ty!

I deleted it and istg I have more control over my mind, the way I speak and just I have more presence overall. I miss the trends and the short happiness I would get from my for you page but when I think about it tiktok didn't give me anything irl so

I’m actually considering some form of Digital minimalism on a more permanent basis. I sometimes go back-and-forth with Instagram and Facebook deleting it for a few months and then being back on it and then realizing that I’m not really in the best with mood and I’m constantly comparing myself to others. I also find that the content that even my friends post is super curated and it seems like everybody’s just doing the same shit. I’m like doesn’t is it get exhausting?! I’m exhausted just looking at it because I feel like I can’t post a photo or a story just looking like my everyday self. You’ve gotta have The right outfit and right hair and the right background and the right lighting…..It’s just all so much.

Great video! Quitting cold turkey here. I did it with Facebook years ago. Part of the problem is getting attracted to the next big platform.

This has inspired me SO much! Going to give IG a break for a bit soon to see how I feel 😊

I realised I had a major problem when I couldn’t watch a film or Tv without scrolling at the same time, which then made me feel completely over whelmed and “head mushy”, I quit cold turkey 3 days ago

Hey guys, if you liked this video please consider hitting the 👍🏼 like button 🙏🏼😊

This video is outside of my usual content genre, but i think it's an important topic, so the extra engagement will help spread the idea to more people (& hopefully help folks along the way!)

Such a great video. Thanks for sharing your experience. I deleted all my social media except YouTube, and a yer later I feel so free (mentally speaking), and I see no reason why I would go back!
It makes me even happier to know others are heading towards the same way 😊.

Congratulations on your achievement of pausing /deleting social media

Great video! I took a break from Instagram for a month and it was peaceful. I went back on and my behavior definitely changed with how i use it. I don’t post as often as I used to. I’ve been filling up my time learning new recipes and cooking a lot more, finding awesome workout exercises on YouTube and reading.
