This Hollow Knight Boss Would Have Been Incredible #shorts

Dryya is one of the Great Knights, the legendary defenders of Hallownest. She served the White Lady, and can be found dead outside of her cocoon, serving the best she could until her bitter end. And that's all she is now... but she used to be a lot more in early drafts of the game. Enjoy :)

I am making a series of Hollow Knight Shorts that go over some fun facts in the game, some basic tutorial things, and just generally interesting details of our favorite Metroidvania. Let me know if there is anything I should make a video on!

It would have been a cool fight for sure, but I think that lore-wise, it made more sense for her character to get the death that she received in the game as we know it. Maybe they could have made it a dream nail fight. I just prefer the idea of her dying to protect the queen; Traitor Lord is already "possessed by madness" as it were.

Its clear that she got replaced by the Traitor Lord. The Traitor lord was infamously underdeveloped on initial release, needing to be reworked in one of the major DLC updates. I think the Traitor lord was added pretty late in development.

The way they describe her canceled boss fight remind me of how Lace's fight looks like in Silksong. They probably recycled some of their old designs

Now pale court is out and her boss fight does not disappoint

So like the mantis lords, she doesn't just randomly assault you and she actually offers a challenge

The sheer amount of will she must have had to still accepts duals while driven mad is just wow. She must have stayed there protecting her queen for ages but even after that she still wanted to fight fairly.

I know it's not the same as official TC content, but a mod adding bossfights to all Great Knights is on the working (and hopefully release soon) under the name of pale court

I wish we could have fought more of the five great knights instead of just the dung defender, definitely sounds like a tough fight too and would be awesome to see her fight against hornet or maybe she trained hornet before her death

im convinced the pale court mod only exists to give dryya a fight, and it eventually became what it is now.

Pale court mod is out, and its one of the best "fan dlc" ever. Recommend.

This was one of things that I was hoping was going to be a part of the Godmaster update.

On a lighter note, I recall hearing that there is a fanmade mod in the works that seeks to introduce all 5 of the Great Knights as boss fights. I forget how long ago I first heard about it, but I assume it’s still in development, so perhaps we may still get the chance to fight her and the others.
