Lonnie certainly has some of the best looking banana trees I've seen! I can't wait till my banana trees grow enough to fruit. The hurricanes flooded the area my banana trees were planted and to save them Ivdug them up and repainted on a little bit higher ground.

Thanks! The best banana growing info I have found for my area. I'm in se Marion county. Moss bluff area. Have some unknown variety that I acquired from the west side of the county 24 years ago. Most years I get 3-4 clumps of bananas. Due to the cold and the fact that here there was very little rain from Thanksgiving till may I got none this year. Have a clump of about 25 plants with many big beautiful stalks but know that this time of year they don't have time to ripen before colder temps. Had 46 degrees this morning.... I will cut and feed the bigger ones to the goats and cow over the coming weeks and regroup for next year...
I'm enjoying going thru your videos. TY!

Definitely the best I’ve seen about banana trees but need to double check this, I’m a total newbie and don’t want to do it wrong... I’m in FL 9b/10a, I have a dwarf namwa and ice cream banana plants. The main stalks on both are full sized with about 12 leaves each, it’s now Jan 10, should I cut those beauties down to give energy to the small pups?

Hey Neighbor, I live over in Orange City and started growing truly tiny bananas this season. I have very limited grow space and the majority of my garden is container including the banana plants. I recently moved them to 10gallon fabric grow bags and was wondering if that would be as big as I needed to go for this species or bigger. I have the 25 gallon bags but was reserving them for potatoes this year. Thanks in advance and enjoy your Sunday

Would you still use ashes on your bananas if you knew your soil had a pH on the higher side? 👀
