Paris 2024 Paralympics A Historic First

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024. This will be the first time Paris hosts the Paralympics, although France hosted the Winter Paralympics in 1992 in Albertville. The Games will feature around 4,400 athletes competing in 22 sports across 549 events.

Venues: Competitions will take place across iconic Parisian sites, such as the Champs-Élysées, Grand Palais, and the Eiffel Tower for sports like Para-cycling and Para-equestrian.
Sports: There will be 22 sports, including traditional Paralympic sports like athletics, swimming, and wheelchair basketball, as well as new additions such as Para-taekwondo and Para-badminton.
Mascot: The mascot for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games is "Phryge," inspired by the Phrygian cap, a symbol of liberty and freedom in France.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games aim to be the most inclusive and sustainable Paralympics yet, with a focus on accessibility, eco-friendly practices, and community engagement. There will be significant efforts to make public transportation and venues more accessible, including services for those with disabilities.
