I built a 10-floor building. 1st floor was taken from somewhere else. But other floors created from scratch having in average 8 rooms on each. Just drew the plan on the paper. Different for each floor.

Yeah, that's the complaint that most people seem to have "Too much work, " it's only natural. I tried listening to their advice for a while, but I just didn't like the real places, they felt kind of ugly and lame to me by comparison, I wanted to enjoy some escapism I suppose. I also wanted a palace that I could expand and improve upon over time, and if it's a real place then it's difficult to do that, it's difficult to let go of the way that it actually is. Now I use a library I imagined, filled with books, antiques, exhibits and even characters, as stations or pegs and whatnot. I often add more and experiment with different features. I find it only takes a bit more work, so long as you use it frequently and pace yourself. In essence, it depends on what you're going for. If you just want to memorize phone numbers or something, there's no point, but my ambitions were a bit more unique than that. My tip is to listen to that sense of haze or "instability" that you might notice when creating, if you seem to be struggling to envision a detail, just make the detail more dramatic, or let it collapse. For example, there was this railing in my library that was a little bit too long, so my mind would just sort of skim over it, and it was taking mental effort to remind myself that there was just railing there, so I gave in and put a little balcony, then I envisioned a little bridge instinctually and welcomed it. The process is actually more like "growing" a mental space, rather than "building" one, and it takes some trial and error to find a comfortable harmony, some kind of feng shui maybe. Through such a process you can actually create a space that feels more vivid and easier to navigate for you personally then a real place you have no control over, at least in my experience.
