Basically what he said is right, in earlier engines we had carburettor. Now carburettor basically is a chamber where fuel and air gets mixed, this mixture is then send to the combustion chamber. Modern engines use MPFI (Multi Point Fuel Injection) system, where fuel is injected directly to the cylinders according to the data send from ECU(Electronic Control Unit)

A carburetor engine uses a carburetor to mix air and fuel before it enters the engine cylinders, while an MPFI (Multi-Point Fuel Injection) engine directly injects fuel into each cylinder individually, allowing for more precise fuel delivery and better efficiency.

The fuel injector is placed at each cylinder intake port allowing precise control on fuel efficiency. It has better power, reduced emission and more fuel efficient than carburettor engines

Where the fuel is injected by a fuel pumps
Through all the intake valve present in that specific engine.


Which maintains perfect air fuel ratio actually.

But at the same time the carburettor based
Engine is not capable for adjust the fuel ratio according to the engine condition.

I am in 12th grade but I will answer
In a fuel injection system the ECU of the engine according to its instruction instructs the fuel injector to inject fuel in the cylinders during the combustion stroke to produce power
Whereas
In a carburetor(used in old cars) is used to mix the air and the fuel, its this mixture thats sent to the cylinder for combustion to produce power
It went out of fashion due to the bulkiness and the inconsistency of the mixture of air and fuel when sebt to cylinder.
Injectors can be programmed to send specific fuel at specific timming but carburetor can't do that.
Injectors not only save fuel they also increase power sometimes.
Have always been crazy about cars hence I know this. I felt like flexing :D
