When I was pregnant with my first child, I heard someone describe contractions like a chainsaw that got loose inside your uterus, bouncing around and wildly painful. I was actually kind of angry that someone would say such a thing because I thought they surely were adding some drama to it, and honestly, it scared me, so I purposely went into it with that comparison in mind, and I would say it was accurate. Sorry if this scares anyone. Hey, I did it again, eyes wide open, and I would go through labor a third time if I got another sweet baby out of it. My mom always told me the two things that helped her throughout labor: your body was made to do this, and it’s just hard work. It’s the hardest work you’ll ever do, but if you look at it from a place of action, rather than something that’s uncontrollably happening to you, it’s easier to focus on what is important. Just have to get your head in the game and not panic. A woman is a powerful creature.

If possible don't let them induce labor. those contractions are so intense and do not give you a break in-between each one like natural contractions do. My first child I could hardly get a breath because the contractions came continually. My second child was completely natural and normal contractions have a break in between each one. Makes a WORLD of difference.

Contractions with my first child was the worst experience of my life. It was back labor and was so terrible that I actually (unintentionally) bit my husband in the chest during a contraction. 😂

Had back labor that felt like someone was holding on to my spine and was trying to snap it. I read different books (Supernatural childbirth, pain free child birth, childbirth without fear) listened to many videos, took 2 child birth classes and prayed a lot. A had a redemptive child birth with my last. God taught me how to really have faith for a glorious birth and I got it. It was such a beautiful experience one midwife said she had never seen anything like it. So even if you have never had a great child birth experience doesn't mean it isn't possible next time around.

I’ve had one completely natural birth and one induced birth. I will do everything in my power to never be induced again. The intensity of an induction is INSANE. Imagine your natural labor contractions literally times 10.

I wish every boy and man hear her words and understand the reasons why you should treat pregnant and post-pregnant women the way they need and deserve. Imagine how is it in some parts of the world. Treat women with kindness and love.
