Goa is famous for its scenic beauty & blue placid beaches. The same way it is famous for its delicious food too. It's seafood, fish recipes are widely famous. Same way its authentic Chicken recipes are also very famous. GOAN CHICKEN XACUTI & GOAN CHICKEN CAFREAL are authentic signature dishes of Goa & hence loved by all people around the world.
In this video, I have shown the perfect authentic recipe of GOAN CHICKEN XACUTI. Chicken Xacuti is basically hot & spicy Chicken curry prepared with full of flavourful ingredients. First the chicken is well marinated with a blend of dry spices along with green paste & then it is cooked in coconut paste & garam masala. The method I have shown is a very traditional one & I have learned it from my Aaji :) It is a bit lengthy process but believe me guys it's worth trying it out. And I bet, after tasting the zanzanit Chicken Xacuti, you gone try it out once more :)
I have shown the Chicken Xacuti recipe step by step & its very easy to follow too. So do try it out & let me know if you got any doubt.

Imp Notes to follow:
* While roasting dry spices, roast coriander seeds, mustard seeds,
poppy seeds & Chillies separately as this way they roast evenly & get nice uniform color without burning.
* Roast spices on low flame.
* Marinate chicken for at least 2 hrs. Taste best if marinated
overnight.
* Do not add water while cooking Chicken. Chicken leaves water
itself while cooking. Instead, cover the utensil with lid & on top of lid add some water. This way chicken taste really well.

Ingredients:-
1 kg - Fresh cleaned Chicken (Medium size pieces)
Salt
Cooking Oil

Xacuti Masala Preparation ingredients:
Dry Spices required:
1 & 1/2 inch - Cinnamon sticks / Dalchini
1 - Mace flower / Javitri
1 - Star anise / Chakra ful
2 - Green Cardamom / Green ellaichi
25 - Black Peppers / Kali Miri
15 - Cloves / Loung
1/4 tsp - Fenugreek seeds / Methi seeds
1 tsp - Fennel seeds / Sauf
1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds / Jeera
1/4 tsp - Nutmeg powder / Jaiphal
2 tbsp - Coriander seeds / Sukha Dhania seeds
1 tbsp - Mustard seeds / Sarso seeds
1 tbsp - Poppy seeds / Khaskhas
25 - Goan red chillies or 12-15 - Local bhidgi chillies / 10-12 - Kashmiri chillies

Green paste Ingredients:
1 - Chopped Onion (medium size)
1 inch - Ginger
12 - Garlic cloves (medium size)
2 - Green Chillies
1 cup - Fresh coriander leaves

Coconut Paste Ingredients:
1 - Chopped Onion (Medium size)
8 - Garlic cloves ( Medium size)
1 - Grated Coconut (Medium size) or 200gm Coconut Milk powder
1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
Xacuti Massala - (prepared from above ingredients)

Chicken Xacuti gravy ingredients:
1 - Finely chopped Onion (Medium size)
1 - Finely chopped Tomato (Medium size)
1 & 1/2 tsp - Salt
Chopped Coriander leaves
