Don’t use the vent to brace yourself as you get up.

Please don't lean on my vent stack to stand up 🙃

I had a coworker come in one day covered in tar. Aparently he hired a cheapskate company to replace/fix his roof. They used boiling tar right over his shingles. Said it was everywhere. It had filled his gutters up enough to make them sag. He had taken the kids and wife to zoo cause they said it would be loud and stinky while fixing it. He was beyond pissed. Did everything he could to find them but they disappeared.

I'm going to have to come back and fix it after I go down to the truck and smoke a couple more menthols and then go to the bar and forget about your job. Roofers don't dress like that or sit down on the roof... A roofer has all his s*** in the back of his truck and he could fix that within about 10 or 15 minutes

Honestly that looks like something the plumber might of done as a friendly leave behind for the roofer... as a plumber I often get called to "mystery" leaks that turn out to be roofing problems; we always supply the roof jackets for our pipes but its the roofers job to install them, as it just makes sense to have a professional messing around with shingles

This guy sounds like every contractor boss I ever met 😂

Ah the old “that guy you hired before me didn’t know what he was doing” schtick

You overlooked the roof shingles, several joins were inline where they should be a 50/50 overlap

Carefully pry the first two layers up around the roof jack (boot), and remove it. Then carefully glue the new one in its place (trim shingles if needed). Secure the jack with screws and seal well around them. I'm a Photovoltaic Electrician. We core through roofs every day for the conduit stubs down to the wall mounted inverter and disconnect equipment. Also, for service riser upgrades from the earlyl 1.5" rigid to the commonly installed 2.5" ones nowadays.👍

That’s the stuff homeowners do and then say “my buddy did it” I’m surprised it didn’t have 6 cans of flex seal on it or 5 gallons of tar.

To be fair, I’ve hired the highest bidder and the work sucked more than the lowest bidder

Typical contractor criticizing another contractor’s work. They always go around criticizing each other. It’s embarrassing.

Just repaired an outdoor fireplace, previous guy left the top of the smoke chamber open to the elements. Unbelievable, it's repaired properly now.

Good temp fix. Depending on age of roof you can make it way worse trying to lift the shingles enough to install it semi correctly.
