Catching HUGE Brown Trout In Small Creeks!

BIG BROWN TROUT ON THE FLY!

In this video I went out fly fishing in an attempt to catching some big pre spawn brown trout. I started out streamer fishing during a thunderstorm and had some great luck, but nothing too large. After several hours of fishing I was lucky enough to land one of my biggest browns of the year in a tiny creek. The clear water made fishing tough but I was able to coax a big one into eating my nymph around mid day. The clear water and close quarters made landing the fish a challenge, but in the end I was able to get it to the net.

To land the big fish I used....
Rod: Risen Fly 23PS Nymphing rod (10 foot 3 wt)
Reel: Risen Gideon 5/6 wt
Fly line: Cortland Euro Nymph Mono core
Tippet: Cortland 4X Florocarbon
Net: Catch Cam Pig Series Net

Mad respect for this one! Not just for catching big fish but being an angler who cleans up trash. I've been doing that ever since I was little and now my two older kids do it too when I take them fishing.

I truly believe the Creator blesses those who take care of His creation. Thank you for including the trash clean up. And that big grin said it all when you showed that beautiful brownie. God bless and always tight lines. Tony

Those were some impressive fish! But I think I’m equally impressed by your cleaning up litter along the stream. Too few anglers, unfortunately, show that degree of commitment to their sport and the environment. Well done — and keep up the great work!

Big thumbs up for picking up the trash. It starts with one person who cares. The difference between takers and givers. Respect for the places we learn to care about.
Awesome fishing too. May those fish always bite!
One other thing. I really like the idea of the biggest ones as breeders, not trophies. Smallest ones live to grow. And those in betweeners are the eaters (within limits.)

I admire the way you care for that productive, amazing stream and the fish that thrive there. It was very impressive how you played out the fight and landed such an amazing fish. Thanks again for another great video.

🙌 Props for cleaning up the trash 🙌

We took out 4 contractor bags the last time we fished in the Schenandoh!

It still blows my mind that people leave this stuff out there on our public lands.

WOW! What a beautiful giant brown trout! That fish was amazing! Just imagine, God raised that beautiful fish from an egg and protected it all the years it’s grown into that giant, and He had it all planned out that you would catch it and be able to have it on your channel! Awesome! 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻😉

Not gonna lie, as a florida boy, those rainbows were big trout for me. I think my biggest so far is 14 inches. Hopefully next time i make it to north GA or NC i can get on one closer to 20. Great video. Ive learned a lot watching you over the last several months. Tight lines
