True worship requires sacrifice. It is costly because we give the best that we have to the one we consider worthy. We freely choose to lay down the things that are valuable and precious to us, and offer them to the one we want to honour and exalt. It doesn't mean much when we give from our excess. But if we give when it is hard to give; if we give what is meaningful to us whether times are good or hard, this is a true sacrifice of praise and it is seen in Heaven as worthy.

There was no greater sacrifice ever made than the one of God becoming man and allowing himself to be tortured and murdered by his own creation. Can any of our sacrifices come close to that?

Today I bring tribute to the King who reigns
whose body bore my pain.
You are my advocate.
I bring You a sacrifice of praise
and bless Your holy name.
I won’t lose my faith.

because You are holy, almighty.
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.

Ev’rything that can be shaken, will be shaken.
