Great tip. To prevent it with straight blades just try and keep your blade as full as possible when bulking, when finishing and trimming run the dozer at a lower rpm 1500-1700. I find really helps prevent the washboard and chopping effect.

The geometry of a six way is lots different than a 4 way. Brand new (I have 190 hrs on it) it still has a tendency to bounce a bit. It helps to turn the blade unless you're bulk pushing at a landfill

Ok. Soooo, the blade control for grade works in increments, and decrements. The most common cause of the washboard is an operator trying to make the grade adjustment with a smooth motion of the control.
Then backing up, and trying to match that same movement on the next pass.
One of the best ways to avoid the wash, is just bump the blade control, up/down, to make your adjustment.
Having a full blade of material should only be done for sub grading. If you have a full blade and are trying to do fine grade, you'll struggle with it.
Give or take.

One fella I work with does that in fine grading aspects but another one said to me, you have to load the blade up heavy to take the play out of the joints and it’ll never skip like that.
