My current project is a 30 year old miata, and even though I curse it and talk trash about it, I look back and have enjoyed every countless hour working on it and have such a vision for it. I enjoy every sweat soaked, no AC, loud, rattling drive with it. Every car I own I fall in love with and respect as art in motion, that’s how I know I’m an enthusiast.

What does it take to be a car enthusiast?


The spirit.


The car scene is a brotherhood where everyone is united by one thing no mater who's who. The passion for cars.

We are like bikers, just without a sign to say: drive safe

As long you like cars your an enthusiast. Doesn’t matter if you’re the performance hungry, precise drifter, or the picture perfect build kind of person. But I will say, you know you’re in too deep if you’ve ever said “I bet I could *insert drive, drift or design* better than them” at a meet 😂😂

The worst thing about the car community is brand loyalty, by that I mean when people say “I’m sorry I can’t like a Mercedes because I’m a BMW person”, for example. It’s just the most awfully annoying thing a person can say. You can prefer one automaker but that doesn’t mean you have to hate on its competition.

It also depends on where you are in the world as well. When I lived in the states I always stayed solitary and the less people around the better. I moved to Japan with the same mindset but eventually found myself surrounded by others with the same mentality and we all stuck together. I never in a million years thought someone like me who enjoys being solo would find myself with a group of friends in the car scene. Especially with how it is in modern day as compared to 20 years ago.

When it comes to being a car enthusiast, I think of any car. Regardless if it’s a “Ricer”. Anyone can be a car enthusiast, if you like cars, I think of you a car enthusiast. Some people just have the opportunity to have so many cars and own a big garage and experience something magical that’s a dream of every enthusiast. When we start liking cars, we’re all in a ricer face but eventually we grow and learn to appreciate every car and build. Wether it’s a out first car as a Honda Civic, to maybe owning a GTR one day. We all start somewhere, but we’re all into the same thing, cars. We’re all car enthusiasts by heart❤️

Road America is my favorite race track on the planet. Mainly because of my huge family connection to it. My grandfather owned and operated 3 concession stands throughout the late 80s and through the 90s. He is the reason why the track has the best food of any track in the country.

And it’s also about having fun, workin with others and family. We love engines beautiful sounds, from I-3’s to To W16’s. Personally we prefer four bangers.

There's a weird belief floating around the Car Community that in order to be a Real Car Enthusiast, it requires you to possess one, and I think that's a really dumb unrealistic belief IMO

Because not everyone can possess a vehicle, or even have the funds yet to get one, especially if you're younger, and not old enough to drive yet, doesn't matter what kind of car it is, does it make you an Enthusiast just because you own a Vehicle? Hell no it doesn't

The Spirit and Intrest, is what really matters, and what really counts, as long as you Genuinely love Cars and learning about them, and even being apart of functions and events that evolve around them, then you're a true Enthusiast in my book, because just possessing a vehicle doesn't mean shit if you're not interested in them

You think because your favorite rapper owns a Rolls Royce or a Lamborghini, that he or she are Genuine Car Enthusiasts just because they possess those things? Hell no, they don't even care about what happens to them, they can just buy another one and forget about it, big deal to them, they truly only buy those cars solely for the wealthy image that they project on us non wealthy people, that's it
