A friend of mine has one of these. She keeps saying she wants to get rid of it for something newer but every year her mechanic talks her out of it. Lol

My parents bought one new in 2003, it's still going, it won't die! In fact they gave it to their granddaughter as her first car.

These are brilliant. We have had 3. All 1.5 manual. The first lasted 550, 000km, the 2nd was crashed at 280, 000km and the third is still strong at 290, 000km. The only common fault is that the rear wheel bearings need replacement at about $200, 000km. One had the rear brake drag fault once but otherwise been bulletproof. Tyres and the odd new battery. Perfect first car or great cheap transport. Oh and the space is nuts. I once picked up a single bed mattress in the jazz. And I have used the magic seat upright for things - eg suitcases and plants.

This is the most reliable car I have ever owned. Very low maintenance. And I have owned corollas and a civic. After owning it, I have no desire to go back to German cars and regretted buying a Fiesta after it.

Old lady down the street from us has one of these, in white. Tough as old boots, and the car works like a charm too. She uses it to lug around potted plants and bags of fertiliser.

My wife is on her third Honda Jazz now and she's had 15 years of fault-free driving. We recently gave her 2014 3rd generation model to our adult son, and we found a 2019 model with only 12, 000 kms on the clock with full service history. Feels like a new vehicle. On a recent trip to Japan we saw current model (4th gen) Honda Fits everywhere, especially hybrids. It just amazes me that Honda Australia stopped importing these. I've noticed however that grey imports are now available in Australia.

I had this gem of a car. Never gave me trouble. Super reliable and super practical. It was such a fun to drive.
It took across the Nullarbor to Melbourne, Sydney and back - an absolute Nugget!

It broke my heart when in had to sell it 😢

Prices for the jazz have gone up in the past 5 years here in Aus. I bought a 2009 GE auto 1.3 with the safety pack in 2019 for $6600. Had 100, 000 km on the odo. They're still selling for more than that now. It is an excellent car, reliable and cheap to run and fun to drive. Goes ok on the highway. The most expensive service was to replace the fuel filter, the back seat has to come out to get access.

My mates wife wanted a 2nd hand Honda Jazz & I found one in his price range. I got the price lower as it had been in a small accident & bent the reo bar behind the bumper. Everything else checked fine. I sourced another reo bar & bolted it on. It was auto but it had the flappy paddles. For a tall bloke like me, it fit me well & the space is unbelievable. The only problems they've had is that replacing the headlight globes can be a pain & parts from wreckers can be hard to find. I've never seen it have rust but when they got it, I got cavity wax in all the areas where rust can occur. Driving it around town & parking is so easy. Highly recommended for someone who wants a small car but isn't a car minded person. Servicing them is a doddle.

My driving instructor had one of these for teaching us in (me and my siblings) and besides the seats not having much lumbar support, it was a brilliant little car.

The manual in his Jazz was surprisingly resilient and forgiving for the learners he took in it.

What Hullsy said about the mechanical side of things I'd believe after having driven one.

Also massive congrats guys on hitting 250k subscribers as you've earnt each and every one of them🎉👏🎉. Also my old man has said that 2 people he talks to regularly may be subscribing to yourselves as well.

Brilliant job as always guys and look forward to Sunday's video as per usual 👍.

And the drive shaft snapped on my jazz too.

Got ours here in NZ as a 2005 import 10 years ago with 56, 000kms. Now sitting on 150, 000. So nice to drive. Quiet, smooth, peppy. Have put on 6 new tyres - 4 of those all new 3 months ago (yep - the rears just wouldn't die). One seized left front brake caliper. CVT additive every 2-3 years. Normal servicing. And that's it. Never once missed a WoF. Always starts. Everything works. Still looks smart. Magic seats helped us move house three times. Easily fits a drier and a Wever family Q in the box into the back. Incredible. We'll probably never sell it.

We own a yellow 2009 Jazz 1.3 automatic, and the kids absolutely love it! We often get waves from children, and my friend’s kids adore that little nugget too.

We bought it in 2018 for $7, 500 with about 75, 000 km on the odometer. Now it has 135, 000 km. My wife drives it, and although it has plenty of bumps and dents, I keep fixing it with body filler and color-matched paint from Supercheap auto. From 10 feet away, it still looks pretty good (it’s not worth taking to the panel beaters. It's hardly insured for $3800).

The car has zero mechanical problems. We service it every six months. We had to change the starter motor but found a new Bosch one for cheap on eBay at around $120! Besides that, we’ve only changed the tires, brake shoes twice, and the rotor once. We also put in genuine Honda transmission oil around 100, 000 km and added a cheap Chinese Android head unit and reversing camera and sensors.

The car drives as well as the day we bought it. It’s a joy to drive around winding roads, and I think it will easily last another 100, 000 km with regular oil changes and general maintenance. It’s mostly driven in the suburbs for shopping, school, work, and gym—mostly short trips. We get about 9.5L/100KM, but we’ve driven it to Bathurst, Hunter Valley and Central coast many times. I think the 1.3L engine has to work very hard, so we get almost the same fuel consumption as our CRV with a 2.4L engine...which gives about 10L/100km.

I owned a 2012 model automatic Honda Jazz 1.5 litre. It was a great little car, and my daily driver until in June 2015, my wife died due to heart failure while driving it. After that, I just couldn't bear to keep it. However, my adult daughter bought a Jazz in 2018, and still drives it daily. Her husband is a drum teacher, and a drummer in a band, and the Jazz swallows all his gear when he needs to go to a gig. You are right to say that the 1.5 litre engine is the one to go for. I don't understand why Honda no longer sells the Jazz in Australia.

I have two jazz/fits, a first gen GD and a third gen GK. I’ve owned a lot of different cars and these are some of the best allrounders out there. The GD has really short gearing (3100rpm at 100km/h), and could do with some more legroom (I’m 6’4”) but it’s more fun to drive than a GK, it feels more like a classic Honda. The GK Jazz is more comfortable.

A good compromise is the second gen GE, same as in this video.

Change the spark plugs regularly (especially in the twin spark models) and do an occasional valve adjustment and these cars are bombproof.
