Karlsson was my favorite player for the longest time, but giving a player that ridiculous amount of money... they are bound to let you down, because you are chopping off salary for other players to play with them. They talk about his confidence. You know what really helps build confidence? The rest of the team playing well. If the rest of the team sucks because you can't afford to keep good players, good luck with confidence.

Because he was a good player on a bad team in Ottawa, so he looked like a superstar. Truth is though, he's just am average to above average defenseman.
