I am not here to bash the other two vehicles, however I will say that I grew up in 2 Volvos, spent a LOT of time driving back and forth to relatives 7hrs away but they're really comfortable. Later one of them ended up being mine at 18 and I loved it! (And it was a wagon too). Fast forward 12 years later my Dad had another one again, I just happened to borrow it one day and I got in an awful accident with a tow truck sized delivery truck. When we all stopped moving and I caught my breath, I literally got up and walked away from that Volvo. It saved my life. The responding CHP, EMTs and witnesses could not believe that I straight up opened the door and just walked away from it. That CHP said every accident he's responded to over the years that involved a Volvo, the Volvo drivers had come out the "winners". Fast forward again nearly 20 years later and now my daughter has an 06 XC90, her friend driving it runs into a one ton truck...you guessed it...walks away. Volvo may not have all the fancy gadgets bells and whistles, but that is for good reason, they literally focus a majority of thier budget and efforts into safety. Personally, I'll invest into my family's safety over non-essentials any day.

I used to have an XC90. Loved it. My family felt completely safe in it. I even told Volvo US we used to joke that we could take a missile strike and still walk away.

I’ve always been a BMW fan. Then we got a Volvo XC90. Most solid car we’ve ever owned. BMW’s are the most fun to drive. Volvo’s have always been the safest cars in the world. I couldn’t care less for the glorified Volkswagen AKA Audi.

The audi was very rigid, dash stayed firm..no interior distortion, volvo sort of side swiped it...would be interesting if it was impact closer to mid line of vehicle🤔

Says in Volve owner's manual: in case of a front collision, aim at hitting the obstacle at a 90 degree angle with 30cm offset (5% allowance) and favour obstacles with rounded corners to ensure the desired effect on the vehicle. Different approach angle and offset may dramatically affect the severity of the impact.
