I got the one of the handwriting books for my 8th grader, too. It drives me crazy that my kids (who were in public school up until this past school year) can’t fluently write in cursive! If there’s anything they will learn in our homeschool it’s cursive and character 😂.

We love TGTB but my kids haven’t used the checklist. We’ve not done the creative writing journal. We do creative writing tho. We love the gather round free write and the writing project. We love using new curriculum and styles. Wat gets me thru is I kno my kids need homeschool instead of public school. Gather round makes homeschool exciting. There’s stuff I want to do but kno it’s too much.

Have u used Beyond the Code books? We absolutely love explode the code. The creative writing books I grabbed last year as just an extra. I have to say they were amazing! My kids really grew thru those books.

My eighth grader is going to be doing TGAB level 7 also. If you look on their website level 7 is actually for eighth grade. The levels and grades do not correspond. I also bought the the “gap” year book studies.

Loved this! How did the handwriting go? I was wanting to do the same for my upcoming 9th grader who never learned cursive and it’s our 1st year homeschooling..is it too babyish or it got job done you think

11th year coming up for us. I still don’t have it all figured out yet. We lean towards living books curriculum such as Build Your Library or Bookshark.

Brand new to your channel from the GR conference and loving it! We are a new homeschool family and I’m doing lots of research. You mentioned Explode the code math pages in this video, but I can only find an explode there code phonics program. Is there a separate math curriculum from explode the code?

We are doing cursive with my 8th and 6th graders this year as well! My 8th grader did do cursive maybe in 3rd grade, but my middle guy hasn't done cursive. They both enjoy hand lettering, so I thought it might be fun for them :-)
