Been waiting for this Video for a while, nice to have simpler options then just the huge supercapacitors I like how you explain things in simple terms and you genuinely try to include everyone from novice to expert. So a big Thank you.

I'm not at all experienced with electronics but you made this look quite accessible. I might even give this stuff a go.

I did end up buying and have been using this exact setup including the transformer for my WiiM Pro+ which needs 5V. The Linear PI by itself made a noticeable improvement and when I added the UC Conditioner the sound quality when up noticeably again. However what was surprising is when I replace the standard USB C cable between the UC Conditioner and the WiiM Pro+ with a 14 gage cable with a 5.5 to 2.1 connector, (Amazon) needed for the WiiM the sound quality improved noticeably again which was not expected at all! The original cable's small gage wire apparently was a bottleneck, I also did shorten the wire from about 3' feet down to 18".
This unexpected improvement did show me when working with a Power Supply at this high quality level every detail matters.

Thanks for showing this particular build. Now I have some more summer projects to do :-)

I literally was hoping you would make a video on this product! Thank you.

This is going to be my start in DIY, thank you. Could you maybe do a video on the type of starter tools one can get at the beginning?

Very nice, simple and great things we can use, thanks!

Nice video and presentation.
Best power supply? Had yet to pas thud test. The wide dynamic range music loading of a power amplifier should not cause any ripple at the supply output terminal. Alternatively test at full rated current and abruptly switch off the load to see a spike voltage at the output terminal. Conversely apply a full load from off to on abruptly to see an undershoot at the same output. Next is white noise test with a spectrum analyzer capable of FFT to see the noise at each frequency.

Hello, Please bare in mind that Ian has not been online on the famous Americain diy audio site for more than 5 weeks now so we should rely upon other users with more experience once we ran into trouble. If you are willing to take the risk go ahead. Of course if you just copy exactly the '' constructions '' shown here it will be okay unless you introduce some bad solder joints which seems to be the number one cause of mistake if all other instructions have been taken seriously. Greetings, Eddy

Give us some spec's on this power supply.
Ripple under various loads?
Spectrum under various loads?
Voltage stability under various loads?
Voltage stability under various loads at various temperatures?
EMI emissions?
Super cap sag V=(IT)/C
Using a USBC cable adds lots of R to the circiut causing voltage drops under load.

Hey Gabby, At 20:12 in this video you show some screens of a diagram showing the hammond 1182N6, I just downloaded Ians LinearPi MKII manual v 1.5 and its not there...any hint on where to find this ?

Hi Gabster,
i have been watching your channel with interest. I would like to start DIYing with an LPSU for my CHORD Qutest DAC to replace the stock power supply. I had a look at the IanCanada website, but i am getting lost with what i have to order to build it. Can you help or tel me where i can find maybe a full kit with instruction manual or tutorial. Will i need to solder ? Thanks
Eric

Hello Gabster, you should put a link to your tutorials on Ian's marketing thread because the number of people that do things in a way that is described as wrong in the manual is rising. Ian has not visited this site for more than a month now so it would be good if you would spread your knowledge a little further before someone has to call the fire brigade. Greetings, Eddy

Really interesting components, and thanks for bringing them to our notice. Was a bit underwhelmed by the technical specs on the supplier's site: or their lack. No mention of their power rating or current rating (a key component for a POWER supply), nor the need to feed from a low-voltage AC supply. Download and read the User Manual to discover this.

Hello, Of course every product made available to consumers should have the right safety features so it wont burn down your house. A proper mounting in a chassis with the right properties should be mandatory. In a situation that could lead to a fire/explosion there should be something like a fuse that will protect your belongings. Inform yourself about which means to use when your gear starts burning. Greetings, Eddy

Hallo Gabster - thank yo so much for your great videos. I've already built a DAC similar to yours with OPA861 with this linear power supply and the UcConditioner Pro5V. It sounds really great. I've two times 9V DC for charging the linear power supplies for +/-5V. When the UcConditioner Pro5V is switched on again, it takes some time until all the flashing lights go out and the supply is constant. Perhaps it is better to leave the system switched on all the time.
Thank you so much for your great work and inspiration, also with the song suggestions!

What PSU would you recommend for ca. 10A (12-19V) if Sigma 22 (and 11) is so noisy?

Hi Gabster, where did you get the stand that your oscilloscope and waveform generator are sitting on?
