I appreciate that the midnight rangers actually do their job, bc u can actually just see them walking around and they also fight td’s if close enough. Its like that little bit of extra world building

Npc in Wuthering Waves are Playable characters in Genshin Impact.

What I like the most about Wuthering Waves npcs is that they actually feel like the same species as the playable characters, they blend in together. Of course they can be a little less detailed, you can find some twins here and there with just a small clothing change, but if you stand close to one, you can see that the proportions match, the playable character doesn't feel alien to the people of the overworld and it's specially telling with the kids like Encore and Verina, they actually have the same base as the other kids npcs, but with much more features ofc, but the height and body/face structure are the same. Makes for a very believable world.

Wuwa has actually made such a good npc system that during side quests you meet so many highly detailed characters that look like they could be main characters of some anime.

Not to mention the fact that npcs also fight each other.
Friendly npcs are fighting monsters and exiles if they come nearby, boars mosters are fighting worf monsters, brown furr monkeys are fighting white furr mokneys(I'm not joking, they actually are😂 next to the entrance to Feilian Beringal boss).
