The Thunder lizard was always a favourite dinosaur of mine in my youth. Was a little disappointed when they announced it was not a real genus and was just a mis-identified Apatosaurus/Camarasaurus. Was very happy when they reinstated it. :)

Brontosaurus is just objectively a better name than Apatosaurus; "thunder lizard" sounds a lot more appropriate for a Sauropod than "deceptive lizard".

I was talking to my friend the other day about how my fav dino didn't actually exists and just found out today it does and was just a naming issue lol This is great news! I did update her too 😂

I was born just in time to know that Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus are the same species.

And now they're telling me Brontosaurus was its own genus all along.

Brontosaurus is a word that is so attached to public consciousness about dinosaurs that even if they didn't find enough difference, they would have had to call something brontosaurus

Yep, I learned alot from this upload. So glad Brontosaurus made it, as its always been the gold standard of widely known Sauropods. Only folks that even know there are Sauropods besides Diplodocus, Brachiosaurus, & Brontosaurus, are enthusiast like us. Now im interested in your take on the current rush to name dinosaur fossils. We finding half a toenail, nxt thing you know its a fully named brand new Sauropod, complete with how long it was, how much it weighed, & how it surely must have felt about sunsets after a long walk on the beach lol ALL from a TOENAIL! #loveit

Brontosaurus turns eight-years-old as a neospecies this year. It came back in 2016 and has been valid ever since.

Interesting. It was announced as does not exist by the scientists, but media continued naming them brontosaurus and it sticks to the general public. No wonder nobody realized this dino vanished for a while.

Apatosaurus has to be my favourite, brontosaurus was original for me, i saw brontosaurus in video games and media before i saw apatosaurus, and both designs were quite different, so i feel that the way apatosaurus is presented in media is better than brontosaurus
