I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason they have turf fields instead of grass is so that injuries happen more often and they can use that to preach for player safety to make up rules that just help the offense instead of fixing the real problem

You obviously have a due diligence not to hurt another player but the tackled player needs to know he has been tackled and protect himself too. Trying to drive through the tackle is causing injury not the tackle itself

You can't keep banning different types of tackles and then going "these are the best offensive players in history. Look how many yards and touchdowns they get.". Quite frankly, the fact that the average NFL team isn't scoring 45 points a game yet, tells me that these are probably the best defensive players of all time

I was fine with head to head over the middle. I saw too many great players end their carreers early over those hits. The problem with a hip drop is thats a good tackle. Its not violent, its not going for a guy's knees, its not taking his head off, and it not like they are trying to knock someone out of the game. A guy is running past you so: you put a sholder into his mid section, wrap up, and drive him to the ground. That's a tackle! If the guy is big he may try to run past you or turn. This is ridiculous. There will never be a rule package, which removes injuies from the game. There are injuries in flag football! At least most of these are soft tissue injuries. If people have to tackle low there will be more knee injuries and a lot more defensive players getting kicked in the face when people try to jump over them.

I had my pelvis broken by a hip drop tackle when I was 15, needed surgery on it almost three years later, still have issues 16 years later, and even I think it’s stupid that the NFL banned it.

They’ve compeltely handicapped the defensive players now. How tf do you want them to tackle them? You’ve banned everything. You can’t even touch the qb anymore for gods sake. Now you can’t do a common tackle.
There would be so many less injuries if they’d get grass though. It’s just more fun on real ground too. Turf burns suck.
