I use the vacuum bags when I don't have to worry about weight being a problem. However, if checking your luggage, they make it too easy to overpack and go over the weight limit. I definitely use the contact cases for things I don't need a lot of like moisturizer but the small sample sized bottles of shampoo, etc work wonders for girls with long hair or if on a trip for longer than two days.

I tried that suit trick. Didn't get the job because the guy said I smelled like "balls and sweaty feet."

1) Choose how much stuff you really need to bring and test if it all fits properly.
2) pack what's needed and bring the hotel shampoos and conditioners that everyone steals.
3) shoes, accessories, beauty products (etcetera and so forth) wrapped in plastic bags to keep separate.
4) put a hoodie and a few things to keep you busy during the trip in a tote, duffle bag or messenger bag.

The rolling clothes thing really works. I'm going home tomorrow for Thanksgiving and I have a weekender bag and I was able to fit 3 pairs of jeans, a pair of leggings, and at least 5 sweaters in the bag by rolling them
