For anyone stuck at the1:10 mark you right click on the edge of the window select orientation and then drag it out. Went through a good few minutes of frustration to figure that out so thanks for not explaining it there were multiple comments asking but got no answer.

I personally thought video was 10/10 even with microphone static, very useful and I was able to follow along doing the actions, thanks.

6:38 This is a little old and I don't know if you figured it out yet but if you right click the divider, you get a few options, and hit "Join Area" and you can close one of the two panels

Edit: Also love the tutorial. One of the rig packs I'm using doesn't have an updated texture of the totem of undying while the other items are up to date. So this helped me replace the old with the new

3 years later, and I had to come back to video because Individual Origins wasn't working, couldn't find edge split but online I found 'Alt+M' gave the prompt, and problem resolved, thanks again.

Also, You could make it 3D by just clicking a and then click e and extrude it up a bit
Then it'll look 3d

Good tutorial and everything worked except for when I was extending certain parts of the item instead of the whole thing, it enlarged them into points and triangles (and I hit s and z before doing this)
Edit: It was an error on my part because I had vertex select on instead of face select

For 2.8 if you wanna save some time so you don’t have to select the other side of the thing you can go in object mode go on modifiers add the modifier called mirror. then chose Axis: Z then apply. it will save some time

If your image is a square, you can just right-click and subdivide by the resolution of your base image (minus one)

Hey when I scale the blade to make it look sharp there is a line between the blade and the other part seperating the blade from the more sharp part of the blade. If there is a fix for this please tell me
