There is no such thing as a "mid hub motor". A mid-drive is not mounted to a hub (which are located only at the center of each wheel). The mid-drive is mounted to the bottom bracket which is in between the wheels where the pedal cranks are mounted.

Thanks to Euro bureaucrat idiots....UK’s legal top speed for a peddle assist ebike is just 15mph....which is ridiculously slower than most teenagers can peddle an unpowered pushbike...As a car driver with an older licence, I can ride a moped capable of 30 mph without Learner plates....but not ride an electric powered bicycle of half that speed...Ludicrous! I suggest instead an age restriction keeping children to slower vehicles of say upto 10 mph (including electric versions of push scooters...currently illegal to use), but those over 16 being able to ride cycles capable of upto 30mph. I would to like see also 3rd party insurance..except the greedy insurance companies would make ridiculous fees. Most people would pay £10 a year to ride on the roads and cycle paths, but not £90. I would also not support mandatory protective equipment...it really must be personal choice. The Government bodies and do-gooder nannies would doubtless like us all to wear helmets just to walk to the shops....this level of public control needs to stop.

Front wheel is best. I have quick release kit and just unplug the cable connector and put incar. Mid drive bikes are worst. Should not exist! Mid drive is wrong all perspective

Upon discovering that a brand new 125cc motorbike was cheaper than the majority of e-bikes, I just had to investigate… This is what I discovered... 1. Nearly all e-bikes and components are built cheaply in China. 2. Unscrupulous companies import these, stick a brand name on it, and then sell it to you at astronomical profit margins. 3. Very few of these brand names have any after-sales support, especially after a few years, when spares are almost impossible to attain. 4. E-bikes in inexperienced hands can be very dangerous, with injuries more akin to those from motorcycles than from push bikes. Conclusion, in the ‘world of wheels’ e-bikes seem to be the new gold rush, through ruthlessly exploiting middle class conscience.
