Luci and Desi started a production studio, Desilu. Luci got it in the divorce. She used it to help creators get a start with their TV shows. One of those creators was a WWII vet who had been working as a writer, but had no luck selling his TV show. Luci gave him a break. His name was Gene Roddenberry. He did ok.

My dad didn't like Lucy at all and said she was nothing but an overpaid loudmouth. Boy would he be humbled and thrilled to know this part about Lucy - especially because the last ship he served on, was sunk by a Japanese submarine. He said that many people were eaten by sharks. His back was broken from the blasts, so he couldn't kick and he said a man next to him was bitten in half.

The one quality that most of our golden era film movie stars had, was a strong sense of loyalty to the soldiers and national patriotism. You can safely claim, that even those who didn't serve, never shrank from the opportunity to serve, even if it was without honor or notoriety.

Thank you Lucy for loving America. Who knows how many lives you saved by aiding the capture of a spy?

I can remember watching Lucy & Desi from the 1960’s as a small child and beyond! I wish they would rerun her sitcoms for my grandchildren to watch and enjoy and laugh as much as I always did! She was beautiful, and kind and funnier than most comedians. I miss you Ms Lucy!!!♥️💜❤️🙏🏼🥰🌈
