Only certain plants can handle this. Tomatoes actually like being buried. Other plants can be down right picky about not having their stems buried, though. Know your plants

We recently did a class project that had us plant plants. We took them home today, and my borage looked a bit leggy, so I did this. It helped!

Excellent. I love deep planting tomatoes.

The roots don’t come from the trichomes (hairs), that’s a mistake lots of people make.

Tomatoes like being buried. You can plant them horizontally and all their wee stem hairs turn into roots, whereas the top then becomes extremely productive. It’s a great way to work with them in drought climates or clay soil ❤

recently I started the tomato seeds for the first time. but I started it in a 1.5" container.
Most of my seeds have germinated and few of them started to show the true leaves. Can I transplant them in separate containers at this stage ? Or should I give it another week to grow the true leaves ?

What about Cubanelle peppers (4”), and hibiscus plants (6”) ? Planted seeds as directed and they’re very leggy, no secondary leaves yet. Started them in peat pods, outside 70 (Florida) environment. Indirect sun. Would you offer me advice on those please? This is my first year starting anything from seed, I’m excited they’ve grown, but not all about them being so leggy. Thank you

Does this work with other leggy seedlings. I have leggy daisy, aster, carnations. Will this work with them, if I bury them up to their leaves?

The „hairs“ are not where the roots are coming from. These are tricomes to keep up with bugs etc

oh nice one but I heard that when you did that it can rot the stem I planted my tomato's in a pot (most of them) but I thought if I covered the stem with soil that the wet soil(when watered) would damage the stem

Leggy? There just being drawn towards the sun. Just turn the trays or container 180° around and they'll grow back towards the sun. Turn them every couple of days.
