It was nice of them to gift you that. To be perfectly honest, I prefer the Perth lunar series over RM. I do like many of the other RM products. With that being said, it's wonderful to hear of a business that is listening to the feedback of their consumers.

Congratulations. They produce fabulous coins. Obviously physical silver comes with a premium (not helped with VAT being applied here in the UK either), however the Royal Mint can genuinely be relied on for quality and good service. I have purchased a number of different coins from them and they were all very good.

Cool that the Royal Mint watches your videos and that they gave you the new lunar coin. I think the design of the rat is an improvement if you compare it with the other designs. Great pickup, the "bodybuilder" Lion of Mortimer is a really nice piece.

I think they should have given the lion a different pose. I definitely agree with you on the rats matte finish. I love how the Royal Mint makes their designs look milky smooth but sometimes you need to break it up a bit.✌

Hi Backyard, I found all the QB designs acceptable, what bothers me are the flaws on the Queen's cheek, as seen on yours. My 2oz White Lions were OK, but you never know.

At least the RM has recognised the overall polished look is not popular and they have introduced texturing to mitigate it.

I do like that Royal Mint sent you the coin to review, it does show that they care what their customers think. The rat is definitely the best design but i did like the Horse, the dog and ram were weak but they were somewhat uniformed in design with the horse. I was annoyed with the pig design as it just falls very short and they should have stuck with Wuon-Gean Ho to carry this set forward as much as the designs needed enhancing in appeal. But im still putting a set together and enjoying the journey of the collection to its conclusion and will marvel at the complete collection one day :/

Perth Mint Lunars some how hit the button with their graphics! - RM to me seem more "cartoon" like!

I like the shiny finish on the Luna series and the brittanias but you see it so often it gets boring. I think the royal mint should try a 'frosty' type design like the 1 oz silver Kruggers, the 1oz silver eagle and the 1 oz silver libertad which is the best looking 1 oz silver coin imo.

Perhaps the Royal Mint could have a look at a silver eagle and see how much detail can be seen on a matt finish coin. However the rat is a great improvement. The first of the series I would consider to buy.
