Temporaly fixing a broken side window.

Clear Vinyl & Gorilla brand Duct Tape

The window got busted out, and a plastic bag taped to the vehicle wasn't cutting it.

The plastic I used is Vinyl from the Walmart Crafts section. Sold as table cloth cover. Any clear vinyl should work from any place you can get it. It is also sold as heavy duty window winterizing film.

The vinyl is very heavy, slightly stretchy, and nearly crystal clear. It doesn't drum going down the road if you stretch it tight.

The tape was Gorilla Tape. I have always been a fan of 3M Scotch brand, but also became a fan of Gorilla after this window fix.

You should have recorded this on a day when your underground volcano was less active.

Thank you Mike for posting this video! It helped me to fix passenger's window in my Camry for upcoming cold days before appointment.
Vinyl bought in Joann Fabrics and Craft store. 16-gauge worked fine for me ~5 $/y after discount. Black Duck Tape ~$8 in Advance Auto Parts.

This was very helpful. I used a 12 guage clear vinyl plastic that was easy to work with. It's supposed to snow here in the Baltimore/ D.C. area and that will be the real test.
